Feb19th. Invite New Blood- by Mistress
No Way Out is tomorrow (today actually since its after midnight). I haven't kept up with wrestling as much lately as I used to. I did catch SmackDown the other day. Kurt Angle was wrestling some unknown with a three minute clock and it was titled the Kurt Angle Invitational. This is an interesting idea but if its on SmackDown, Im going to guess that its being poorly used. The whole crowd hates Angle, why not have participants coming very close? Or participants teaming up with long time wrestlers to distract the ref, do something illegal and win or even still lose? This could easily be used as a vehicle for introducing new blood as opposed to a way to display his invincibility.

Feb9th.
I hear that there was a West Side Story/ WWE commercial going around. I havent seen it personally but I am quite intrigued. If anyone knows if it can be found online, please let us know!

Well, the Revrend has been busy lately, and I haven't been watching but I checked out some stuff online and I found it interesting that the Undertaker is selling his bike on Ebay for charity. WWE.com says: The Undertaker has donated the motorcycle that he rode to the ring at WrestleMania X-Seven. The bike, with an appraised value of nearly $50,000, is currently being auctioned on eBay. Every single dollar that is raised by the sale goes directly to The Angelus, a 501c (3) charity, which is a home in Florida for people with cerebral palsy. Undertaker is a longtime supporter of the cause. For more information or to place a bid, click here.

SummerSlam Results. I guess the Revrend was wrong about the Elimination Chamber. Someone winning hurt adds more drama, he should've known this.

TRIPLE H WINS ELIMINATION CHAMBER
KURT ANGLE def. BROCK LESNAR -WWE Championship
KANE def. RVD
EDDIE GUERRERO WINS FATAL FOURWAY -U.S. Championship
UNDERTAKER def. A-TRAIN
LA RESISTANCE def. DUDLEY BOYZ -World Tag Team Championship.

Making this short and sweet, as time is not my friend.
Summerslam is this Sunday, only match thats gonna be real good, will be the elimination chamber.
Nash vs Jericho vs Randy Orton vs HHH vs Goldberg vs HBK.
Only one man will come out on top here. It will be Jericho. Hunter is Hurt, Nash sucks, Orton isnt ready, and everyone else works a limited house show schedule. It will be good to see them try something out with Jericho again, being a huge mark like I am, it will be nice to see what they'll let him do.
Otherwise I dont care about Summerslam, and neither should anyone else. They dont so we shouldnt. I wont be ordering, I'll probably catch a tape later.
Everyone should watch NWA TNA. THIS IS JUST AWESOME. Great wrestling, decent stories, people who work their asses off. I've actually gotten this the last few weeks, very enjoyable.
As a way to garner new fans they're offering a 2 hour best of for 1 penny on September 10.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO ORDER THIS! Its only 1 cent, and it has an awesome awesome awesome awesome America's Most Wanted vs XXX steel cage tag match.
I'm a little short for time, but thanks for reading. The Mistress has big things coming up for SPOUZIC! So stay tuned!

Mistress: i mean, they passed their heyday and nothings really shocking
RevrendNuts: i say it is, becasue they have hollywood people writing, wrestling fans wanna see stuff written by wrestling fans
RevrendNuts: you have to care about the product to write it
Mistress: youve had atleast 4-5 years of the same big names and its actually hard to build a believable reputation- i mean goldberg was just crazy lucky.
Mistress: but theyve done everything

RevrendNuts: goldberg was lucky he got the push he got
Mistress: i agree that having wrestling fans write it would help but, i dunno
Mistress: yeah he got a big push, but that doesnt mean the fans had to buy into it
Mistress: we did

RevrendNuts: I did not

Mistress: its so overused that even if i am watching a match of importance im skeptical
RevrendNuts: ya

RevrendNuts: lance storm, thats my nigga ;-)
RevrendNuts: we dont let him get over because hes no good on the mic

RevrendNuts: first problem last year
Mistress: I dont need someone who can tell me which past matches were good
RevrendNuts: vince bought them inand was like THEYRE POISION IM GOING TO KILL MY BABY.. HALL NASH HOGAN
RevrendNuts: but pff... come on we all knew BULLSHIT shoulda done it slick style
Mistress: we need someone who can figure out the dynamic formula of competition that makes it interesting and do it DIFFERENTLY
RevrendNuts: yea
Mistress: its not an easy thing to do when youve done everything!
RevrendNuts: i mean whut way do you go? different stories, or do you try and go ufc style, straight up shoot, or go japanese style like pro wrestling noah, and have it stiff work, with worked storylines
Mistress: i mean, cage matches, bat matches, no holds barred, characters that come in from the rafters, underneath the ring, rumbles, ravens rules, yada yada yada
Mistress: theres nothin left

RevrendNuts: STING ROCKS
RevrendNuts: lol
Mistress: i love him too
RevrendNuts: and ravens rules were just a glorified hardcore match
RevrendNuts: ravens my homie :-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
RevrendNuts: >big mark<
Mistress: i knowwwwww, but those characters arent exactly news anymore
Mistress: and they cant be
Mistress: theres no where else for their characters to go

Mistress: not enough
RevrendNuts: a few christians, and anyone dumb enough to buy wwa ppvs?
Mistress: have you seen one that you know its dumb to buy them?
RevrendNuts: but for all intensive purposes stings last mainstream match happened the last night of wcw
RevrendNuts: and it was great
RevrendNuts: O:-)
Mistress: i saw the first one they advertised
RevrendNuts: i saw the one from vegas on my friends hotbox
RevrendNuts: WAAAAAAAAAAACK
Mistress: it didnt strike me as so much worse than the wwe
RevrendNuts: but they had jerry lynn \m/
Mistress: they all suck
Mistress: so whats the difference whose bullshit you watch?

RevrendNuts: its whos working
RevrendNuts: i watch for certain people
RevrendNuts: van dam, jericho, storm, both hardyz
Mistress: so none of the people in the wwa interest you?
RevrendNuts: >tryin to think who else is important<
RevrendNuts: jerry lynn was interesting to me
Mistress: but dont you get my point?
RevrendNuts: stings interesting, but otherwise not really, they use a buncha old wcw guys, and a buncha indy guys ican see if i take atripto the elks lodge
Mistress: alot of the people in wwa mean nothing to us at all
RevrendNuts: yea

RevrendNuts: thats who i like
RevrendNuts: :-)
RevrendNuts: im wearing a slapnuts t-shirt now and didnt even realize
RevrendNuts: vampiros always good to watch
Mistress: if were beyond the realm of reinventing the mechanics of wrestling, lets atleast seem some new GOOD characters
RevrendNuts: ahh
RevrendNuts: but theres the problem
Mistress: i didnt say it was easy
RevrendNuts: what me or you might thing is a great character the writers will think is shit. meanwhile america in general will be like eww that guy sucks, or hes ok, but it comes down to it, if the writing staff doesnt think its poppin
RevrendNuts: its not going to happen
Mistress: youre now excused from writing a wrestling column, im just gonna post our convo ;-)

The Shining Wizard By: Revrendnuts

Well a busy week in the wretling world.Wrestlemania came and stole my $39.95, Raw came with a debut of a familiar face, and Smackdown has some faces from the past bought back to the present.

Wrestlemania... wow was I wrong on my predictions. All I'm going to say is Matt Hardy and Rey Rey only got 5 minutes, and the ladies got 12 minutes to go, and so did the Taker/Jones, A-Train/BigSlow Match.. TERRIBLE! Scariest moment of the night was Brock Lesnar BOTCHING A SHOOTING STAR PRESS!! It was terrible I thought for sure he had broke his neck, but he sustained a concussion, and is very lucky.

Moving on to Raw, the whole night was in anticipation of the debut of Bill Goldberg. It was never said that he would show up on Raw, but the day after Mania is always the kick off of the new WWE year. Goldberg... yea.. He's not going to be over for long. He'll go over Rock on the PPV, then get killed by HHH and he will be another over paid former WCW star with an attitude problem.

On Smackdown.. just moments ago as of writing this, none other than SABLE has returned to work some kind of angle with Torrie Wilson. I don't know where this is going, but hey.. Two hot blondes, I am SO THERE. Also Roddy Piper did a run in at the Pay Per View in the Hogan/ Vince match. Seems the Hot ROD is a member of the Smackdown roster, and will be holding court in PIPERS PIT every week starting next Thursday.

One over looked tragedy of 2003, was the untimely death of Curt Henning. He died in Feburary under suspiscious conditions. The toxicology came back, and he died of accute cocaine intoxication. Terrible, seems that there was alot of drug paraphanelia in his hotel room when the police found him. Wrestlers.. think they have it good... guess not, because more wrestlers that have been in the limelight, have died in the last 5 years than any other sport in the mainstream. I personally have some fond memories of the former Mr. Perfect, one of them being his classic match with Bret Hart at Summerslam 91 (I think). Just a tremendous bout, with Perfect doing the right thing and putting over the next man in line. All in all wrestlers, just need to learn when to say when. No need for someone who saved their money well, and had all the fame to die alone high in a hotel room.

Over all a Thumbs up week for the WWE. I'm in a lil weird mood right now, so forgive this being short. I promise I'll have something better up for the 3 or 4 people who read my first column, hope everyone enjoys the Shining Wizard. Email me if you like. Freedom or Fire!! RevrendNuts@spouzic.com

Wrestlemania Preview

Welcome to the first edition of The Shining Wizard, nothing spectacular here, just shooting from the hip and talking about Wrasslin.

I'm not one for intro's or anything, so lets just DIIIIIIIIVE right on into the Wrestlemania line-up as of this writing.

>Stolen from 1Wrestling.com<

1. Booker T. challenges HHH for the World Championship.

2. The Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs. The Big Show and A-Train.

3. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho.

4. Rey Mysterio challenges Matt Hardy for the Cruiserweight Championship.

5. A triple threat match for the Women’s title: Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria (champion).

6. Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan in what’s simply being called a ‘fight’

7. A triple threat match for the WWE Tag Team Championships: Eddy and Chavo Guerrero vs. Rhyno and Chris Benoit vs. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas (champions).

8. Brock Lesnar challenges Olympic Hero Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship.

9. The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I'll give a quick run down what will probably happen, and who will maybe win.. These are my opinons, after being a life long wrestling fan.

1. Booker T. challenges HHH for the World Championship.

Uh-Oh HHH against someone who was a top dawg in WCW. Anyone else fear the HHH effect might come into play here? Glad I'm not Booker, looking at Hunter this past week on Raw, it seemed he was adding back some of that muscle mass he had lost, and was as slow as ever. Anyone remember HHH a few years ago? Not Incredible Hunter Hulk. I definitely see our man Booker getting the strap here. They have demeaned titles so much it wont matter if he gets it or not, but I have a feeling Hunter is going to look past the title to someone else who will be coming in soon. I'll go with Booker going over due to interference from Ric Flair back firing, or a debuting Goldberg giving Book a Hand.

Winner: (And technichally Six time,Six time,Six time,Six Time,Six Time,Six Time WCW World Champion) Booker T

2. The Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs. The Big Show and A-Train

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH.... Where do we start? The fact that Taker is going for 11-0 at Mania, or that Nathan Jones is a convicted violent felon, who can't work his way out of a paper bag, or that Big Slow has had more pushes than a newborn baby, or that A-Train's hairy ass has never been over, and never will be.

Can I skip my predictions here and say I don't care? I see this maybe playing out as Taker said he wants to retire soon, and this whole program with these 3 guys was his idea, to give something back. Either Taker will get the pin on show, and this will end the feud, or more likely if Taker is truely going to hang up his boots soon, Jones will turn on Taker, and join with Show, and Train, and Heymans guys and Taker will go out looking at the lights ending his mania run.

Winner: The Big Show and A-Train due to Jones turning heel.

3. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho.

Yes YES YES YES!!! Fanboys and girls rejoice! This is an Internet Marks dream (me). This match should live up to expectations. Y2J has been billed as the true next HBK for a long long time now, and rightly so. I've not seen someone as entertaining as HBK since HBK, only Jericho has filled the void. If given the time this match has the potential to steal the show, and seeing as HBK didn't want to come back to a full time schedule when he returned at Summerslam, this can be a true passing of the torch. Jericho goes over, and continues on saying he is the living legend and Shawn can go back to Texas make babies and pray. Everyone is a winner, we get a great Mania match, Jericho truely gets elevated to the next level, and Michaels won't hurt himself anymore than he did all those years ago.

Winner: Y2J with the Walls of Jericho.

4. Rey Mysterio challenges Matt Hardy for the Cruiserweight Championship

>Throws up the Version 1 Sign< I'm torn here.... I've been a Hardy Boy mark for a long time, I picked up the book last week when it came out, and finished in 6 hours. Rey Rey has been awesome since his WWE (God I hate that name) debut in August. This match has had the kind of build up that a regular pay-per view match should have, not a Wrestlemania match. I much rather see Hardy chasing the title like he was a few weeks ago, none the less this match will be off the chain! I see it as Hardy retaining with help from the number one M-Fer Shannon Moore. Also as the second best match on the bill.

Winner: Matt Hardy Version 1.0

5. A triple threat match for the Women’s title: Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria (champion).

Well now, everyone needs a bathroom break, this will be mine. Jazz is a good worker, Victoria is so hot, and a good worker, and a long time title holder. Trish needs to do Playboy next, also she improves everytime out. The problem with ladies matches is that there aren't enough workers to mix it up, we've seen this match almost every week on Raw since November. I'll just go with Jazz getting the strap, and Trish, and Victoria switching up the roles on her to change it a lil bit.. Either way, this is the time to get another drink and hit the head.

Winner: Jazz

6. Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan in what’s simply being called a ‘fight’

According to Hogan (brother) Vince never thought to make a t-shirt till Hogan was in the WWF. This is just Vince stroking his ego, trying to get heat on himself for Mania. I don't care what these two 50+ men do. All I know is its going to be about 15 minutes of hell, and bad punches, everyone blades, and with all the politics involved, I have no idea who goes over.

Winner: Not the viewer at 39.95 for this crap.

7. A triple threat match for the WWE Tag Team Championships: Eddy and Chavo Guerrero vs. Rhyno and Chris Benoit vs. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas (champions).

Ladies and Gents, I give you the match of the night. Six workers who will bust their asses to make sure you get your moneys worth. Benhamin and Haas, hold the belts, Eddy and Chavo, no one knows if they're heels or not, and Rhyno and Benoit are just slapped together. Rhyno still has a lil ring rust after being out for a year after getting his neck fused. Benoit really got the shaft here... Angle is injured, was supposed to be out, and decided he can work. The consensus was that Benoit would be the next to get the shot at Brock, but I digress. This match I cannot even put it into words. This will be a true definition of a wrestling clinic. Enjoy this match while you can, because WWE is changing the style match that their workers are doing slowly but surely.

Winners: Haas and Benjamin retain.

8. Brock Lesnar challenges Olympic Hero Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship.

Simple but sweet, Angles injured, the match can't possibly be what it could have been. It has spectacular build up, I see it as Team Angle interferes, Brock F-5's everyone in sight, and becomes a two time WWE Champ in his first year in the company.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

9. The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin.

No one cares!!! Rock is great in his heel role, and has no problem jobbing to anyone. Austin is boring as HELL since he's come back. What? I said Austin is boring as hell since he came back. Rock's not going to be at the April PPV, and hes going to be making a new movie, so he'll be gone again for a long time. Only problem is Rock can't keep jobbing everytime out, because no one will believe he can win. On the otherside, Austin can't lose either, because that defeats the purpose of keeping him around, because if Rock can beat him and leave, that gives Stone Cold no place to go. Maybe this ends with a Double DQ. Something, I don't know. It's just going to be interesting to see what the finish is.

Winner: No Idea.

Wrestlemania Sunday at 8:00 PM on PPV. WATCH IT!!

Torrie Wilson will be in Playboy magazine. The WWE Restaurant closed. I wish I could say I knew what was going on in the wrestling world but at the moment I dont! Maybe some of you can fill me in!

12/15
STING made an appearance in some European company. He said he never made a conscious decision to retire but had no desire to join the WWF/E with their over the top story lines that include such things as necrophilia. Most of you probably already know Sting is a born again Christian, Im sure his church finds his profession interesting to say the least. He plans to do a little wrestling and see how he feels. He really only hopes to have a 'fairwell' match which is the only thing his career lacked.

November 13 2002
I find it amusing to get into random wrestling conversation with people who stop by my dorm room. The prominently displayed posters circling the room generally warrant a comment or two but real conversation is rare. Looking around at them myself, I realise most the wrestlers I loved aren't wrestling anymore, or aren't where they once were. Sting, Macho Man, DDP, Raven, Hall, Nash, Hart, and of course every wrestling fan's favorite to love or hate, The Hulkster. Do I still watch? Sure. Do I go out of my way to make sure I see it? No. Its a little sad to me to have this growing disinterest in something I so loved only a few years ago. Hanging out with my cousin every monday night was by far some of the most fun I've had in my life. Picture a 5'1 girl who can't walk wrestling around on the floor with her 6'1 guy of the same age. Everyone had their favorite organization. One organization sort've takes the fun out of it. Yeah I know there IS another organization, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere and the WWE... well, theyre the WWE. I love the Undertaker still but how many times are you going to change his character? Chris Jericho is probably the one wrestler who has never bored me but lately I just miss the luchadores- bad costumes and bad gimmicks but fast paced fights- no talking! NO TALKING. That may be the reason I loved Sting for so long, Goldberg had the quality too. Go in, kick their ass, look cool, leave. Every time Vince McMahon picks up a mic all I hear is 'blah blah blahh F*-bleep blah blah jerk blah blah bleep!' Am I getting too old or has wrestling really been dumbed down?

Sept 23 2002
Whats new in wrestling? Well, I was at the WWE Restaurant in Times Square and it appears Eric Bischoff has been challenged by a woman! How exciting.
I recently had the pleasure of being around a few wrestlers and my impressions were as follows: RVD is a jerk, Chris Jericho is a sweetie(FOZZY! FOZZY! FOZZY!), and Bradshaw looks even dumber drunk. That is all for now.

Stone Cold Steve Austin surrendered to authorities in San Antonio, Texas, on Tuesday to face assault charges, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The charges stem from an alleged domestic violence incident in June in which SCSA is accused of assaulting his wife, Debra. He faces a misdemeanor charge of assault with bodily injury and is free on $5,000 bail.

Rumors indicate the return of STING!

Damn, the Hart Family has had it rough! Bret Hart suffered a stroke that affected half of his body. He was another one of my favorites. :(

I have not kept up well with the world of wrestling but on my message board I have heard that the nwo is back together and Shawn Michaels has returned!
In sadder news, the British Bulldog died.

GEEZ!
Hulk Hogan lost to the Rock at the ppv. What a surprise. Not. If that wasnt the most predictible outcome ever, i dont know what is. After, since The Rock and Hulk decided to be sportsmanly, Nash and Hall came out and said, fuck this, we're kicking your ass. So I am SURE this will lead to a tag team fight at the ppv with some sort of special stipulation to make it more interesting.

Wrestling Jan 21st
Ok freaks. I have NOT been watching wrestling lately but I HAVE heard a lot of buzz about SCOTT HALL, KEVIN NASH and possibly even HULK HOGAN returning to the WWF! Yeah I know Hogan is getting old but his gimmick is what will make him a valid wrestler till the day he dies. Personally, I cant wait to see BIG SEXY again! heh. I kinda miss seeing Sting and I used to love Raven but not anymore. Im hoping that once they bring back Hall and Nash things will change. I do love my Jericho and Edge though!

Its A Girl!
My deepest congratulations go out to Dwayne Johnson, better know as "the Rock" and his wife. they are now the proud new parents of a baby girl which they named Simone Alexandra Johnson. Or as her father "The Rock" likes to call her, "Pebbles". Congrats "Rock" from everyone here at Spouzic. We wish you the very best.
Peace and Hairgrease, Lisa

Stupid News...
Smackdown is going to be a LIVE show for a while because WWF execs are saying the reason why its ratings have been so low is because of internet leaks. Right, whatever you say Vince. Apparently the WCW heavyweight title main event from last monday had competition with a fight in the stands! The audience were more interested in watching the real fight between a few show attenders than they were in watching a fight they paid to see. WWF fans are saying WCW went bankrupt because their talent sucked, meanwhile the WWF wrestlers seem to think this will make the show more exciting because you will never know who to expect. Though in principle and theory the wrestlers should be right, I am beginning to think that Vince can destroy pretty much every good idea.
~Rock On, Mistress

Well...
the Macho Man Randy Savage lives! Hes going to be on a show on the WB sometime this week. Nikki is the show... Im not telling you when cuz i didnt watch the commercial long enough to hear but im sure it wont be too hard for you to pick up the remote and press power.
~Rock On, Mistress

DUH!
Ok..so your son wants to jump off the top of a garage onto a burning table for a backyard wrestling match and hes NOT mick foley, you: A) let him realize his stupidity after hes jumped and you face thousands of dollars in neglect lawsuits or B) dont let him jump? hmmm this is tough!
~Rock On Mistress

WWF News...
Chyna is on the cover of the July '01 issue of Ironman magazine.
Triple H's injury was "exaggerated" the guy just needed a vacation so they pretended that he needed surgery. Woah! Wrestling do something exaggerated??? Never!
~Rock On, Mistress

JERICHO
the wwf likes to show their wrestling videos on ppv once a week highlighting specific wrestlers. i watched one of jericho last week which was pretty funny but it makes me wonder just how much their profits have dropped. in other jericho related news the dude better get his act together and update his fukkin site! he hasnt changed his commentary in a month!
~Rock On, Mistress

Mick's new book
Foley is Good and Real Life if Faker than Wrestling .....go buy it, his first book was awesome and i hear this one is just as good.

WCW.COM
still exists. The site has been reduced to a video clip of the WWF RAW feed but is still there and requests that you email them any suggestions for the direction you would like to see WCW take. WWF has still not bought out the contracts of many of WCW's top name players.
~Rock On, Mistress

In the News
Anyone catch the little snip it on the news after smackdown last week? Trying to make the wwf look good for helping people get over drug addictions and such? Anyone notice how they left out the lawsuit about giving drugs to their wrestlers from a while back?? The news being partial. What a fukkin surprise...
Rock On Mistress

IN THE NEWS!!
Apparently Scott Steiner was a little confused last week when he gave a few blows to an EMT who he did not know was not part of the act. So basically his ass is facing charges because he couldn't tell a real EMT from a fake one. And we always thought it was obvious to make that distinction but I guess when you take that many drugs your mind loses some of its sharpness.
